Organic Church - Neil Cole

Very readable book on Church Growth/Planting. Want to soak in its essence a little now & and see how it enters into the arteries of my life…

Probably a book on Church Planting wouldn’t have been automatically appealing to me but I found this a challenging read. I noted quite a few kicks to the marbles really as the author questions the very tapestry of our modern day western churches and how infertile, stunted & stagnant they can be compared to the virus like expansion, spontaineity & vitality of the early church and certain current global church expressions. It relates to various questions & ideas I mull over to do with “What is Church?” while throwing out the gauntlet to all of us who claim to give a hoot about lost people & following J. Refreshingly simple in ideas and very provocative.

Anyone else read it?

Nice coupla reader reviews here

"We need to lower the bar on how church is done and raise the bar on what it means to be a disciple." I like this reviewer comment - I'll definitely be reading it (after the Alan HIrsch trio!) - went to open mic night on Monday above cafe bar - great church!
